Managing Director and Principal Rock Engineer
Kenneth Mathibela is a Principal Rock Engineer with extensive experience in geotechnical and rock mechanics engineering for large‑scale mining, infrastructure, and civil works. With a strong educational background and hands-on expertise, he leads complex projects, ensuring the safety, structural stability, and optimized performance of rock and soil systems.
Key Qualifications & Skills
- Expertise in assessing rock formations, fault lines, and ground behaviour under stress.
- Proficient in designing rock stabilization systems (anchors, bolts, shotcrete, mesh, etc).
- Strong background in underground and open‑pit mining, tunnels, foundations, retaining walls, and slopes.
- Excellent collaboration with civil, structural, and mining engineers to integrate rock engineering into overall project design.
- Committed to safety, sustainability, and regulatory compliance in all work.
Experience Highlights.
- Leadership in designing and overseeing support systems for tunnels, open‐pit walls, and underground excavations.
- Responsible for risk assessment and mitigation strategies in rock engineering settings.
- Oversaw or contributed to projects involving foundation works, slope stability, and retaining wall systems under challenging and variable geological conditions.
